Many thanks to all the people who saw our 64th wedding anniversary picture on the internet Feb. 11. We received many, many Facebook messages, phone calls from our friends here in Livingston, around the state and from many friends from around the country. The picture used was from our 63rd wedding anniversary. Our good friend from Columbus, Montana, Marilyn Strange, used that pic and entered the 64th date on it.

This is really very hard on me and my family. Donna and I have been together for 69 long years, and 64 of them were our wedding anniversaries.

365体育投注官网At almost 96 years old, it is getting harder for me to get around like I used to do, due to my military years during World War II as a combat infantryman all over the Philippine Islands and a few weeks after the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. I and three other infantrymen were on a secret mission that took us to Hiroshima, and for two hours I roamed around that pulverized area and breathed atomic dust and air from The City That Was No More. I have had lung and breathing problems for many years because of that mission, and it is getting hard for me to go like I used to do, but I plan on being back to playing cards at the center and back to going there again for the noon meals, if possible. I never was a quitter.

On behalf of Donna and myself, thanks to all of our wonderful friends for your friendship all of these years. I never forget.
