Global Intellectual Strategies® Realigns for Next Wave of Growth

Ottawa, Ontario – February 2, 2009
In order to continue to provide the exceptional quality of service and value to its customers, Global Intellectual Strategies is pleased to announce a realignment of the company with the addition of three newly formed divisions; Patent Services headed by David Fraser, Patent Intelligence and R&D headed by Marc Pepin and Engineering Services headed by Alfio Ferrara.

Patent Services
The Patent Services Division, directed by David Fraser, will concentrate on expanding GIS’ client base as well as making a range of new, innovative patent services available.

GIS is also pleased to announce that David is joined by Carolyn Hayden, a recent addition to the GIS team. Carolyn brings with her over 20 years experience in patent services, consulting, and semiconductor manufacturing technology.

Patent Intelligence and R&D
Marc Pépin will focus on an aggressive program to further differentiate GIS’ services by bringing exceptional patent intelligence and licensing expertise to its customers. This program will be complemented with extensive R&D in order to provide a combination of both in-house IP expertise and technical expertise that is unparalleled in the IP Industry.

Engineering Services
In an effort to ensure that the appropriate technical resources and programs are in place and customer expectations are met, Alfio Ferrara has been appointed as Manager of this division. In this capacity, Alfio will be responsible for managing GIS’ technical resources, including reverse engineering, product research and procurement, documentation and engineering lab services.
